^Scientific
Translator at work^
A
scientific translator is a person who spends their working
day translating scientific documents into different languages.
This includes not only writing documents, but proofreading
and editing as well. Some work for a specific company, while
some have their own home businesses. If a scientific translator
is looking for a job at a company, former work may be required.
On average, the person must have four years of prior experience
working as a scientific translator, or in a related field.
To obtain a job, one needs to present a resume with information
that any business would like to know, such as where the applicant
attended college and how long they have been in this field.
Everyone applying must have a Ph.D. in a field related to
life sciences.

If
the person has a personal business, they may be working out
of their own home. In a company, they would most likely be
found in an office atmosphere. Currently, in over 60 countries
there are an estimated 8,500 people working in the field of
scientific translating. This would let anyone assume that
there is room for more people, and also many available jobs.
