The Battle

The Revolutionary war consists of many battles including the Battle of Bunker Hill. The war was between the American colonies who were fighting for their freedom and for the British government. The many important generals were: England's General Thomas Gage and Sir William Howe. The Generals for America were Colonel William Prescott, General Israel Putnam and General Artemis Ward. There are also many other men that played an important role they were: Joesph Warren,Major Durkee, Captains Chester Clark Coit and the lieutenants were Dana Keyes Hide, Webb Grasvenor, Bingham and Ensigns Hilland Bill.


The British troops amounted to 2,500 and out of these between 1,150-1,054 were killed by the American troops . The Americans had about 1,500 troops and out of these between 441 and 453 were killed. The American's had a powerful leaders that helped them win the battle. The American's had a better outcome than the British. Even though the American's had a weaker and smaller military they conquered over the British. The American People considered the battle a moral victory.
