Celebrate 90 Years of Franciscan Education
The Missionary Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception founded Mount Alvernia in September 1927 on Manet Road in Chestnut Hill. Throughout nine decades, our original mission has never wavered: to educate young children and women. As Mount Alvernia has grown, it has gone through changes: the establishment of the high school and its later move to 790 Centre Street, the introduction of lay teachers, building new facilities and the expansion of technology in the classrooms.
We invite you to join us in celebrating our 90th anniversary and to recognize those who came before us and where both schools are headed into the future.
